In recent years we have seen a fast increase in the prices of the petroleum barrel, what has had a cascade effect in the prices of most of the products of the consumers. This largely is due to that the petroleum is primarily the main source of raw material for many products. Other reasons given in the public debate is the growth of CHINDIA (China and India), speculation in the stock exchange, uncertainty in the Half East, Venezuela and Chávez, predictions of locations, among others.Â

The biofuels is combustible derived of alive beings or of the waste that these produce. These include Solids (Wood, straw, etc.), Biogas from excrements/waste, and Liquids (bioethanol, biobuthanol, biodiesel, etc.) derived of the compounds of the plants (starch, lignocellulose, oils, etc.). Last month argentinean external biodiesel sales were declared for 162.008 tons to an average pondered value of 1332 u$s/ton versus 1381 u$s/ton in August.

In the first nine months of 2008 the exports registrations ascend to more than 855.000 tons. On September of 2008 Argentinean biodiesel exports were declared for 162.008 tons to an average pondered value of 1332 u$s/ton, with a minimum of 820 u$s/ton and a maximum of 1590 u$s/ton. 83,5% was destined to USA, 9,7% to the Netherlands and the 6,8% remaining to Italy. Leer más »

The Cooperativa Agrícola Ganadera y de Consumo de Porteña, in association with Italian investors, has in study the establishing of a plant to produce biodiesel in the new industrial park of Altos de Chipión, in the San Justo department. Â

The Swiss multinational Glencore will invest u$s 50 M in Timbúes to lift an oil manufacturer of big dimensions.  Â

Through Oleaginosa Moreno, the company that controls since ends of the 90s´, Glencore bought a gigantic land of 200 hectares with wide coastal front to the north of the town, between Dreyfus’ property and the thermoelectric complex San Martin.  Â

The group -one of the biggest cereal companies of the world- doesn’t discard to add a biofuels plant (biodiesel), but it will begin by milling grains, that is the first priority. They haven´t informed yet if the complex will also have an own port, although it can use its neighbor´s terminals (Dreyfus and Noble). What´s certain is that they won’t lack of space. Leer más »
