GUADALAJARA.-President Felipe Calderón announced that Pemex will change its gasolines and oils distribution models to incorporate in the national consumption the biodiesel and ethanol use. Â
“The decision is made”, said the Executive’s boss during the inauguration of the Forest Expo 2008 in Guadalajara.
He pointed out that 875 million pesos will be invested in the states that have a bigger vocation to produce the biofuel. Â
Accompanied by the secretary of the Environment, Rafael Elvira Quezada, the leader assured that this decision goes accompanied by the government’s effort to support the establishment of plantations of more than 100 thousand hectares of native plants as the oil pinenut and others.Â
In accordance with the Management of Investments and Operative Expense Analysis of Pemex, it is forseen that in the case of anhydrous ethanol, the supply can be carried out from the sugarcane producing centers of the states of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.Â
Information from Pemex, with reserved nature, points out that at the moment it is in the preinvestment studies phase, at least in what refers to the denominated Package of Storage and Dosage of Anhydrous Ethanol (PADE) that consists in establishing the technical, operative and financial requirements of an integral project to create the infrastructure for the use and handling of the mixture of the ethanol with gasolines that will be distributed in the metropolitan areas of Monterrey, Guadalajara and valley of Mexico.Â
The anhydrous ethanol can be used as oxyginating component, that is to say that contributes additional oxygen to the mixture of air-fuel in the motors of gasoline and as component in the formulation of the car fuel, in mixtures that go from 10% and up to 85% in volume of ethanol with gasoline.Â

In accordance with the specialists of the oil company, the international practice for the transport of anhydrous ethanol is by means of autotanks or tightly closed railroad, what implies important changes in the way of elaborating, transporting, storing, caring and to distributing oxygenated gasolines.Â
